In Lena Mattsson's exhibition and accompanying catalogue, the classic metaphor of the eyes as the mirror of the soul is deconstructed through a multifaceted exploration of the symbolism of the eye – where power and violence penetrate through the lens. Fearlessly, she asks the most difficult questions of existence and opens the door to the unspeakable.
Lena Mattsson received the Academy of Fine Arts' exhibition scholarship from the Gerard Bonnier Fund 2025. The scholarship includes an exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts, funds to carry out the exhibition and an exhibition catalogue.
