2. Lena Mattsson: Är ögat själens spegel?

Malmökonstnären Lena Mattsson intar Galleri Rostrum med en synnerligen välgjord utställning. Effekten är slående, rentav målerisk, när hon projicerar sitt tvåkanaliga videoverk direkt på väggen, där en ung kvinna i korallröd bikini sträcker ut sig. Strax intill leker samma kvinna med cigarettändarens eldslåga. Musiken har skapats av Conny C-A Malmqvist, och dess sprött klingande, suggestiva rytm är avgörande för verkets förtätade stämning. Det handlar om blick och makt, att se och bli sedd, med referenser till reklamens modeller och konsthistoriens kärleksgudinnor. Är ögat själens spegel? frågar Mattsson. Klart är att det både går att spegla och förlora sig i hennes verk.  

”Mirror of the soul”, Lena Mattsson, Galleri Rostrum, Västergatan 21, Malmö, t o m 22/12. Den 7/12 visas två av hennes filmer på LiAn Filmfestival på Panora.
